Privacy Policy

Feeder Rater is a product of Maker Gully. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Feeder Rater on the web. You can try one feeder analysis without creating an account; creating an account unlocks history and daily analyses.

Information we collect

• Account information: Email address and hashed password, managed by Amazon Cognito (when you create an account).
• Photos: Images you upload for analysis, stored in AWS S3. Signed-in photos are linked to your account. Guest-try photos are stored under a temporary guest identifier.
• Analysis results: AI-generated scores and assessments stored in AWS DynamoDB.
• Guest try controls: An HttpOnly browser cookie (`fr_guest`) that identifies a one-time guest try, plus a hashed form of your IP address used only to limit abuse (rate limits and a daily guest budget). We do not use this to build a marketing profile.
• Engagement data: Loves, favorites, and leaderboard opt-ins stored in DynamoDB (signed-in users only).
• Usage data: Number of analyses per time window for signed-in plans, used to enforce free and Premium limits.
• Payment data: If you purchase Premium, payment is processed by Stripe. We store entitlement status linked to your account; card details are handled by Stripe, not stored by Feeder Rater.

How we use your information

• To provide the AI analysis service and display your results.
• To enable community features for signed-in users (leaderboards, loves, favorites, sharing).
• To enforce plan limits, Premium entitlements, and guest-try abuse controls.
• To respond to support requests sent to our support email.

Guest analyses

Without an account you may run one successful guest analysis per browser (cookie) subject to network and service-wide limits. Guest photos and results are retained only briefly (on the order of a couple of days) and then removed via automated expiration. Guest results are not added to History, leaderboards, or share links. Creating an account does not automatically transfer a prior guest result into that account.

AI processing

Your photos are sent to Google Gemini (server-side only) solely to generate the feeder analysis. We do not use your photos to train any models. Google's use of data submitted through the API is governed by Google's API Terms of Service.

Data sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with the cloud infrastructure and processors necessary to operate the service (including AWS, Google Gemini, and Stripe for Premium checkout). If you opt in to a leaderboard, your feeder photo and score are visible to other signed-in users.

Data deletion

If you have an account, you may delete any individual analysis from within the app. Deletion removes the analysis record, the photo from S3, and associated engagement data (loves, favorites, leaderboard entries). You may also delete your account from Profile (typed confirmation), which purges owned app data and your Cognito identity. Guest records expire automatically; for other requests, contact us at feeder-rater-support@makergully.com.

Cookies

We use an essential HttpOnly cookie for guest-try enforcement (`fr_guest`). Authentication uses tokens managed by Amazon Cognito (stored by the browser for signed-in sessions). We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

Security

All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Account authentication is handled by Amazon Cognito with JWT tokens. Photos are stored in a private S3 bucket and accessed only through signed URLs or authenticated API calls (guest results use short-lived signed URLs in the response).

Children's privacy

Feeder Rater is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised date.
